Lotus Bumz Cloth Diaper Review

Lotus Bumz Review

Lorain, Creator of Lotus Bumz, started her business when she realized that there is a great need for an affordable cloth diaper. After deciding to go with cloth diapers with her new born and seeing the physical benefits that it had on his skin, she decided more parents needed to know their was a way of diapering their children that was better for the environment, as well as being affordable.
I was sent a Grassy Green Lotus Bumz Diaper by Lorain to Review.

Here are My Thoughts:
Basics
Diaper Type:Pocket
Sizing: OS
Closure: double row of waist snaps
Number of snaps on each wing:5, including hip snaps

What Diaper: We received a Lotus Bumz 1.0, in Grassy Green.
Diaper Type: Pocket
Sizing: OS
Material: This diaper has a Microfleece lining , and has an outer layer of waterproof PUL. This diaper does not need a cover.

Insert material: The Insert provided was a 3 layer Microfiber Insert.

The Fit: The fit of this diaper is good, Chunk is a good 20 lbs. and I had it on the second rise setting, and it just fit, the legs were a bit large though.   It has a cross over snap option with 5 snaps straight across, and the hip snaps, which we know I love!

Print: The Print we received was a green, I liked it because we have a couple different green diapers in our stash, but none this shade. Lotus Bumz also has a couple of different print patterns that their Cloth diapers come in, and they are adorable!

Leaks: We have not had a leak yet, we haven't used this diaper for overnight use yet, as it gapes a bit in the legs. Maybe in a couple of months I will, once he has grown a bit more.

Cost: The Printed Patterns & Solids vary a bit, but both diapers range anywhere from 11.75-16.95. That is a good price, especially for a cute diaper that works well!

On the scale of 1-5:
Fit: 3/5
Print: 3/5
Leaks:5/5
Cost: 4/5
Overall: 3/5
I would recommend Lotus Bumz to anyone using One size Pocket diapers or anyone looking to try a One size pocket, this would be a great diaper to start with, and stick with! I would recommend it more for larger babies though, as it seemed like it ran a bit bigger.

Snappi Review

Snappi  Review

We have had some Prefolds sitting in the drawer since Chunk was born. I haven't had the courage to try them, they have always just seemed too time consuming for my little wiggle worm. Well when I was sent a Snappi to try, I decided to dig out those Prefolds and try them out!

So What is a Snappi? Its a diaper fastener, that works as a replacement to diaper pins. They are made of a stretchable Non-toxic material, which is t-shaped and has teeth on the 3 ends to attach to the diaper. The elastic of the Snappi helps to hold the diaper in place.

We tried our Snappi on a couple different Prefolds and I wasn't sure if it was the diaper or my squirmy child. I decided to try it on Mr. Bear and realized its wasn't the diapers, but indeed the squirmy child! This doesn't surprise me, considering that It takes every toy in the room to get him to sit still during any diaper change.
We will keep at it, and hopefully it will get easier, or little man will stop wiggling as much.

My Overall opinion of the Snappi is that the purpose of it works wonderful. It is a wonder of improvement compared to using Diaper Pins, especially if you have a child who wiggles. It would work awesome with younger ones too!

To Buy:
To purchase a Snappi to try for yourself, you can visit them at www.snappibaby.com. They have six different colors to choose from, as well as two different sizes.

Guess Whoo's One Event: Day 5-Wild Mountain Mommies Review

Day 5

Wild Mountain Mommies Cloth Diaper Review

I stumbled upon Wild Mountain Mommies a couple months ago, and fell in love with her diaper prints. So you can imagine my excitement when I was able to review one of these diapers on my Chunk's cute little bum.

Here are My Thoughts:
Basics
Diaper Type:Pocket
Sizing: OS
Closure: Single row of Front Snaps
Number of snaps on each wing:
What Diaper: Chunk's bottom had the joy of being covered by a Owl printed One size pocket diaper from Wild Mountain Mommies.
Diaper Type: Pocket
Sizing: OS
Material: This diaper is lined with super soft micro chamois , and has a inner layer of waterproof fabric, and is covered in a cotton printed fabric on the outside. This diaper does not need a cover.
Insert material: Hemp Fleece Bi-folded

The Fit: The fit of this diaper is great! It has a cross over snap option with 5 snaps straight across, I have said it before that I'm a huge fan of the extra row of snaps, but with this diaper, It worked well without it. Christina from Wild Mountain Mommies included some hip snaps for us, but we haven't needed them yet.

Print: The owl print is too cute, in fact Wild Mountain Mommies has some of the cutest prints around, I am in love with the  Multi Minky Whales print she has in her shop right now. I may have to make that our next addition.

Leaks: This diaper has been the longest lasting diaper so far, and I am not even sure it has met its maximum absorbancy. We have had many Dr. appointments in the city lately and its quite a drive to many of them. Well I put this diaper to the test during one of these trips, and he didn't leak and lasted the trip in this diaper.

Cost: Depending on what system you use, for the pockets they run around 12.00-19.00, depending on prints and whether or not it is waterproof. They also sell AIO, AI2 and covers. The price varies on those as well, but still reasonably priced.

On the scale of 1-5:
Fit: 3/5
Print: 4/5
Leaks:5/5
Cost: 4/5
Overall: 4/5
I would recommend Wild Mountain Mommies diaper's to anyone using One size Pocket diapers, this particular diaper was the most absorbent diaper I've used.  Plus it holds up really well against cake! hehe

Bunnzoo Cloth Diaper Review

Most of you heard my thoughts before on the Bunnzoo Later Gator Diaper from Bunnzoo, If you didn't you can here.
Well I was also given the chance to review the Owl print diaper for my Guess Whoo's One event. I have been using this diaper for quite a while now, and its still a regular in our stash!
I Apologize for the lack of photos, I will post them tomorrow. My camera is not cooperating and I cannot upload the ones I have.

Now onto My Thoughts:

What Diaper: I reviewed the One Size Owl print pocket diaper on Chunk.

Material: This diaper is made out of Anti-pill fleece inner layer and a waterproof outer layer. This diaper does not need a cover.

The Fit: I loved the fit of this diaper on Chunk, it fits him great around the hips and legs, which is rare to have it fit so great in both areas on him. We don't use this diaper as a nap or night diaper, because It has leaked a few times, but for around the house, it holds well. My only negative thing is the positioning of the insert flap, its in the middle, which I'm not super crazy about, because it was a little hard to get the flap to stay closed. Like I said before though, Great diaper for around the house, which is where we are five out of seven days.

Print: Wonderfully Adorable! I love the print! In fact I love all of Bunnzoo's prints. I've been eyeballing a few new diapers for Chunk in her new arrival section too!

Leaks: We have had a couple leaks in this diaper, mostly at nap or night, which we don't use it during then anymore.

Cost: Awesome, the best I've seen, especially considering the quality of the diaper, which is great. You can purchase the owl diaper for $14.99, and that is with shipping included. Majority of their other diapers are in the same price range.

On the scale of 1-5:
Fit: 2/5
Print: 5/5
Leaks:3/5
Cost: 5/5
Overall: 3/5
I would recommend Bunnzoo diaper's to anyone using Pocket diapers, they
are great diapers and the price is awesome for the quality you receive!

Sew is your Baby cloth diaper Review & Giveaway

Sew is your Baby Cloth Diaper
Review & Giveaway

I've added quite a few diapers to my stash lately, and this diaper from Sew is Your baby is one of our favorites.
I am excited to share my thoughts with you on this diaper!

What Diaper: I received the Purple Hieroglyphics Minky Cloth Diaper
for review, It is a One Size Pocket diaper.

The Fit: I really like the way this diaper fits, We had a blow out earlier this week in this one, and No leaks where I would have had with a disposable, and some of my other CD's. I love the crossover tabs, that is a MUST with us, otherwise they just don't fit right on Chunk.

Print: I liked the print ok, I am not a fan of purple on boys, or mine anyway. I guess I think of Purple as a girl's color, but that is probably me just being weird. Other than the color the print was cute.

Leaks: No leaks yet, and it has been in rotation for over a month now! We have used it as a naptime diaper, but not as an overnight diaper yet. It held up great through naptime, and It was a longer nap(3 hours) and he didn't leak.

Cost: Sew is your Baby diapers are fairly cheap, they run about $13-$14, depending on whether or not you want minky or silky, this price includes one insert. They also have gift sets which include diapers, wet bags, leg warmers, detergent and flannel wipes, again prices depend on what package you choose, but all are reasonably priced!

On the scale of 1-5:
Fit: 5/5
Print: 2/5
Leaks:4/5
Cost: 4/5
Overall: 4/5
I would recommend this diaper to anyone using One size or Pockets, they have many colors and prints!

Bummas Cloth wipes review & Giveaway

I've said it before and I will say it again...In my opinion switching to Cloth Wipes is a bit more of a challenge than switching to Cloth Diapers. I'm not sure what it is, but it just wasn't something I was excited to do, but yet again, Chunk's skin made me realize it was a must. When I got the chance to try Bumma's, I was extremely interested, after all, they aren't just for Cloth diapering!
That's right! They can be used for disposable diapered babies to just "freshen" them up, and clean up what the disposable wipes leave behind.
Some other great uses for Bummas:
*To Cover your little guy's stream during diaper changes
*Dry baby completely after a changing, so no moisture when you put their diapers back on
*As a Burp cloth during feedings
*Washcloths for the bath
*Bummas are also soft enough to be used to wipe noses.

One of my favorite things about Bummas is that it has two textures on each side. One side is rougher(but still so soft) and it works well to get stuck on stuff off their little bottoms or body, while the softer side works well to wipe clean.

Bummas comes in A couple different color sets. I tried the Wild Ones, which is one of every color, A great variety of colors!

Wylie Clothworks Cloth Diaper Review

Although, I live in Georgia, I was born and raised in Michigan. I am always hearing from family and friends about how hard the northern states are being hit with unemployment and the economy is worse in Michigan than most others. So I try to buy Michigan made products whenever I find them to help out my fellow Michiganders.
So when I heard about Wylie Clothworks, and saw that they were in Michigan, I was all about purchasing some new diapers for Chunk from her! I was sold 100% when I saw she had a MSU diaper!

Now My Thoughts:

What Diaper: I reviewed two Wylie Clothworks One size pocket diapers (The Grinch & Michigan State University Fabrics) with two of her Bamboo over microfiber inserts.

The Fit: I liked the fit on this diaper okay, I wasn't crazy about the side snaps. I understand that is probably the only way to get the cute printed fabric on it, but my little man is a squirmer, so it makes it quite difficult to get it on correctly or tight enough. I have learned to save these as AM diapers, or right after nap changes, cause he is still a bit groggy and usually a bit more still. Other than that, the fit is great! Leg room is wonderful, and I think he will be able to fit into this one for a while!

Print: Of Course you already know, I love the print! She has a wonderful assortment here for both Boys and Girls! She also has many other great cloth diaper accessories in these prints as well.

Leaks: We have had a couple leaks in this diaper, It is only the Grinch one though. I'm not exactly sure why either. I should tell you though, that one was when we were at my sister's college Graduation, and couldn't get up for an extended amount of time. He was wiggling around alot in our laps, so this all could be a contributing factor to this leak, haha. The other time was a nap, and it is still a regular in our stash.

Cost:  Wylie Clothworks Diapers are wonderfully priced, especially for being handmade. She Does custom orders as well, but I believe she has stopped taking them for a while, until after the holiday rush. Her diapers without an insert run anywhere from 12.00-23.00, it varies with each print and product. She also has diaper covers, and custom trainers for the older ones.

On the scale of 1-5:
Fit: 3/5
Print: 5/5
Leaks:3/5
Cost: 5/5
Overall: 4/5
I would recommend Wylie Clothworks diaper to anyone using One size or Pockets, they are adorable and work great!

Buy It:
to contact Megan or just for more information. You can also email her for special orders or questions at wylieclothworks@yahoo.com.
Megan is an Awesome person to work with, she communicates with you every step of the way, she works quickly, especially considering the amount of orders she gets! Great customer service! I was also sent some Cloth wipes to try out! We are brand new to using cloth wipes, but I have been wanting to switch for a while now. Its definitely a harder step than switching to cloth, but we are sticking to it! Be sure to check out Wylie Clothworks other great eco-friendly items!

Day 4: Ho Ho Holiday Gift Event

I chose the Green Christmas long all for Chunk and I was more than pleased with them. Day 3 of Ho Ho Holiday gift event: Bunnzoo cloth diaper review & giveaway

Day 3: Ho Ho Holiday Gift Event

Bunnzoo Cloth Diapers

I am fairly new to the Cloth Diapering world, but we are quickly learning some are better than others! One thing I have noticed is that some Big names work amazing, while some just aren't worth that kind of money. My favorite diaper is actually from a WAHM, so I am always looking for new WAHM and smaller companies to buy from.
Recently, Michelle from Bunnzoo offered a one size pocket for me to review on Chunk, and here are my thoughts on this diaper!

What Diaper:  The Diaper I tried on Chunk was a One size Waterproof Pocket in a cute Later Gator print.

The Fit: I loved the fit of this diaper! Most of the time our trouble area is the legs, Chunk has some thick thighs(hence the nickname) but, I loved that this diaper has an adjustable elastic in the leg area! This is the first diaper I've tried with this awesome feature! It fits nice everywhere else also, I love the extra snap to keep the wings from drooping too! This is a BIG annoyance with some diapers I've gotten, No wing snaps. This one has them, and I love it!

Print:  I loved the Later Gator print, It was adorable. I am not sure how clean the white will stay, but I am hoping that we won't have to worry about it.

Leaks: I am proud to say that we didn't have a single leak in this diaper! In fact, I have been hunting for an overnight diaper and Michelle from Bunnzoo sent two inserts with one diaper, so I decided to try it overnight. Chunk woke up nice and dry, and He is a heavy wetter! We have only used this diaper 2-3 times so far, but I can tell it will be in my favorites stash!

Cost:  Bunnzoo Diapers are so reasonably price, I almost dropped my jaw. I am unsure I've seen a diaper, this cute and well made this low priced before. In fact, I'm not even sure I've seen poorly made diapers for this great of a price. She has a set of 2 zoo printed waterproof diapers with two inserts for $16.99 shipped, Where else can you find prices like that?

On the scale of 1-5:
Fit: 4/5
Print: 3/5
Leaks:4/5
Cost: 5/5
Overall: 4/5
I would recommend this diaper to anyone using One size or Pockets, for the price it worked just as well as my big brand diapers!

Buy It:
