homemade Laundry detergent

With both of my boys having sensitive skin, I cannot even guesstimate how many laundry detergents and skin care products we've tried, and very few work. Often one will work for Chunk and not for Spanky or vice versa, or the one we do find will be ridiculously expensive. I've been interested in trying to make my own laundry detergent and I think I am going to try it out sometime this week.

I found some great tutorials on it, and I may have to tweak some parts, but I think I can do it. I just found this homemade laundry stain remover gel on tipnut and had to share it cause I know how often one of the boys will get a nasty stain on something and I have to break out the stain remover and then wash twice, because with their skin being so sensitive they'll break out. Well I am so excited to try this homemade stain remover without all those harsh chemicals, I may just let the boys get all stained up tomorrow just so I can try it out! I'll let you know how it goes.

Anyone ever tried making their own Laundry detergents or laundry products and want to share some friendly advice for a beginner?

  1. I use to make my own detergent. I got a new HE washer and my husband said not to use anything but HE detergent. :-( I make my own creams, bath oils and shampoo also. I have very sensitive skin also, so I know the feeling of finding something that works... If you need creams I can share what I do for it, just let me know...
